March 5: Women's Human Rights Film Series Screening of Sarabah
Rapper, singer and activist, Sister Fa is a hero to young women in Senegal and an unstoppable force for social change. A childhood victim of female genital mutilation, she started a grassroots campaign which uses her music and persuasive powers to end the practice. The film follows her on a challenging journey as she brings her message back to her home village.
There will be a discussion held after the film.

March 7: One Voice Minnesota Training to become a Community Human Rights Monitor
The Advocates for Human Rights created the One Voice Minnesota Monitoring Project to investigate, document, and assess how fully Minnesota welcomes all residents of our state. By recording the experiences of immigrants and other key communities in Minnesota and evaluating them against international human rights standards, the project will work to eliminate anti-immigrant bias and build a community in which the human rights of all Minnesotans are respected, protected, and fulfilled.

March 12: Action Day to End Violence Against Women at the Minnesota Capitol
Action Day to End Violence Against Women is a collective effort by six statewide coalitions to raise awareness about the prevalence and devastating impact of violence against women in Minnesota.  The two-day event includes listening sessions with legislators, training on each coalition’s policy agenda, youth involvement events, networking opportunities, and meetings with legislators, culminating in a powerful rally at the State Capitol Rotunda at 12 noon on March 12, 2013.
