The Basilica of Saint Mary and The Advocates for Human Rights are partnering to offer an orientation session at the Basilica to provide information about what is involved in providing legal counsel for people seeking asylum.

Consider joining this informational session. Learn what it takes to help people seeking asylum.

People flee their home countries to escape  violence and persecution. Of those individuals from crossing the U.S./Mexico border, children comprise a large number of these asylum seekers. Only 14 percent of people seeking asylum can afford legal representation. But without an attorney, their odds are dim for gaining asylum.  The Advocates for Human Rights teams with a powerhouse of volunteer attorneys to provide much-needed legal help. No matter an attorney's practice of law or the attorney's specialty, The Advocates trains and supports these volunteers to provide effective legal representation for clients weaving their way through immigration court.

Please share this opportunity with colleagues.
