March 10 Session
This CLE will train advocates to prepare and conduct successful client interviews with children who have experienced significant violence. This training will feature tips, strategies, and clear examples of eliciting relevant facts from a child client for an asylum claim and to transform the child's story into an affidavit that is age-appropriate and persuasive to the adjudicator.
March 24 Session
This CLE will focus on utlizing documentary evidence and supplemental affidavits from witnesses and service proviers to strengthen parts of a client's narrative and bolster a client's legal argument. It will also teach advocates about what to expect during immigration proceedings and how to prepare a chlid client to provide oral testimony during an asylum interview and hearing.
For each session, two standard CLE credits will be applied for.
