This training is designed to train volunteer attorneys to represent unaccompanied minors and others eligible for asylum, explain the main forms of relief for deportation for which they are eligible, and instruct attorneys in applying for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SJIS) on behalf of children and their famliies. The Advocates will provide detailed practice and procedural information, as well as materials and templates that will assist attorneys in handling these cases. The Advocates will also describe the mentoring and other resources available to volunteer attorneys and explain next steps in taking on asylym or SJIS cases through The Advocates.

Three standard CLE credits will be applied for.
