Human rights fact-finding and UN reporting: Opportunities for collaboration

The Advocates for Human Rights collaborates with partners around the world to amplify their voices so they can leverage human rights mechanisms at the United Nations to press their governments for change. Learn how you can be a part of these collaborations by assisting with researching and writing reports to UN human rights bodies. This CLE will provide an overview of UN human rights mechanisms and will then focus on how to prepare reports to UN treaty bodies and to the UN Human Rights Council. It will cover best practices for conducting research, gathering information from partner organizations, framing facts based on international human rights standards, developing recommendations, and the mechanics of writing a report. Participants will receive templates and examples.
