DESCRIPTION:
Since its establishment 25 years ago, The Advocates for Human Rights has been providing lawyers and other community members with meaningful and life-changing opportunities to use their skills on behalf of those who experience human rights violations. The Advocates’ volunteers help conduct fact-finding and monitoring of human rights situations locally and abroad. They represent people who are fleeing persecution and need to apply for asylum. They conduct research and draft reports on cutting-edge human rights issues. They represent the organization before international human rights’ bodies. They teach children about human rights and responsibilities. They speak about human rights at educational events. Come and be inspired by local attorneys who have used their legal skills to promote and protect human rights.
