The 2017 Human Rights Awards Dinner will feature Mark Hetfield, president and chief executive officer of HIAS, a leading global agency assisting refugees, who will deliver the event's keynote address and will be presented with the 2017 Don & Arvonne Fraser Human Rights Award. The Advocates' Special Recognition Award will be presented to Representative Ilhan Omar, the highest-elected Somali-American official in the United States. Also receiving special recognition will be the volunteers of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport Rapid Response Team.
