Registration: Training to Represent Central American Refugees (South Dakota)
Training to Represent Central American Refugees
Wed., December 3 > 9:00 - 12:30 Central Standard Time
Federal Courthouse
400 S. Phillips Ave.
Sioux Falls, SD 57104
This training will also be broadcast to Pierre and Rapid City federal courthouse locations.
With the unprecedented number of children and families arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border, attorneys are needed to help with asylum cases. People from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras are fleeing horrendous violence due to the breakdown of law, including forced gang recruitment, sexual enslavement, and extortion. These children and families need representation.

This half-day event will provide training to attorneys on representing children and families living in South Dakota who are on the expedited juvenile docket in immigration court in Bloomington, Minnesota. It will provide specific training for handling cases in court, as well as information on preparing asylum applications and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status petitions.
