Submission of Information
UPR reviews are based on documentation that is submitted months in advance of the session.
During the Review Session
he State has the primary responsibility to implement the recommendations contained in the final outcome document and must provide information on what they have been doing to implement the recommendations when they return for the next review. NGOs also play a role in holding States accountable for implementing the recommendations of the final outcome document. The Human Rights Council has the authority to take measures to address cases where States are not cooperating.
