Christina Chang
Programs: Advocacy
As Training and Outreach Manager, Christina collaborates with program directors and key stakeholders to set training priorities and strategy that align with organizational goals and emerging needs. She oversees the full lifecycle of online training—from design and development to implementation and evaluation—ensuring each resource is accessible, engaging, and impactful. Christina also plays a key role in coordinating the AILA MN/DAK Chapter's Upper Midwest Immigration Law Conference.
In addition to managing the ongoing enhancement of website functionality, she supervises and mentors interns. As a program associate, Christina launched the current website and created the first trainings for The Advocates' Human Rights Training Initiative.
Christina is drawn to human rights work because she deeply believes in the inherent dignity and equality of every person and is determined to act against injustice rather than merely despairing.
Christina entered the field from a humanities background. Before joining The Advocates' staff, she worked as an art museum curator, focusing on increasing representation in collections and programming. Her work included roles at the Weisman Art Museum, the Minnesota Museum of American Art, and the Perlman Teaching Museum at Carleton College.
She earned her PhD in art history from the University of Michigan and her BA in political economy from the University of California, Berkeley. She is currently attending Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where she volunteers in the Immigration Clinic.
