Legal Help

The Advocates represents adults, families, and children who are fleeing persecution, torture, and trafficking, as well as people in immigration detention.

Who's Eligible?

Map of The Advocates' service area, which is Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

We do not charge any legal fees. With limited resources, we must restrict our services to those who need our help the most. We prioritize representation for people whose household income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines and live or are detained in Minnesota, North Dakota, or South Dakota.

If you don't meet our criteria, ImmigrationLawHelp.org is a searchable online directory of over 1,000 free or low-cost nonprofit immigration legal services providers in all 50 states.
