When people migrate with dignity, the world is a more just, safe, and peaceful place. The Advocates believes in - and fights for - immigration systems guided by international human rights standards and dedicated to the fair and humane treatment of all.
Each year, The Advocates for
Human Rights works with pro bono attorneys to provide free legal services to
more than 1,000 migrants who are victims of human rights abuses. We also work
to reform the legal system itself by documenting and reporting on human rights
abuses and advocating for better immigration laws. Our extensive education and
training resources help educators, individuals, and communities understand the
dynamics of migration through a human rights lens.
The Advocates recruits and trains volunteer attorneys, legal assistants, court observers, and interpreters to help individuals who have fled persecution in their countries of origin.
