Sofia Chamorro Pilacuan
As the Annual Fund Assistant, Sofia shares the Advocates' mission with individuals, organizations, and foundations, inspiring them to support our work through donations and sponsorships. Sofia also works with interns and volunteers to ensure that every friend of the Advocates feels seen, valued, and connected to the cause of defending human rights.
Sofía recently graduated from St. Olaf College with a double major in Political Science and Sociology/Anthropology. Although this is her first role in development, she brings prior experience working with several nonprofit organizations. A highlight of her background is her summer internship with the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), where she supported the Colombia and Venezuela programs in their advocacy efforts on foreign affairs, advancing human rights in both countries and across the region.
