The Advocates for Human Rights is mobilizing resources to provide essential legal help to thousands of people from Afghanistan as they resettle in Minnesota.
Most people arriving from Afghanistan have temporary permission to stay in the United States and need legal support to ensure they do not face deportation in the future. Afghans already in the United States must file asylum claims now to ensure they can remain in safety.
Working with our partners to meet basic needs, The Advocates will provide essential immigration consultations, know-your-rights training, and pro bono representation to Afghan refugees through on-site and virtual clinics at resettlement sites. Volunteer legal professionals, interpreters, and translators are needed.
