Nonprofit Administration Internship

Location: In-Person

This internship is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in administration and internal operations within nonprofit organizations. The intern will gain hands-on experience by supporting a broad range of administrative and operational functions, including finance support, process development, information technology coordination, and general office operations.

Through close collaboration with organizational leadership, the intern will develop practical insight into how nonprofit organizations operate behind the scenes, learning how administrative systems, internal processes, and cross-functional support contribute to mission-driven work. This role offers meaningful exposure to the day-to-day operations of a nonprofit while building foundational skills applicable to future careers in nonprofit administration and operations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Document organization (digital filing, naming conventions, version control)
  • Drafting internal emails, memos, and announcements Data entry and cleanup (employee lists, vendor info, trackers)
  • Meeting notes and action-item follow-ups Monitoring office supplies & tracking inventory Assist with daily mail opening and scans.
  • Support the coordination of front desk volunteers, along with drafting updates to the front desk volunteer manual. Assist with preparing Board materials and completing Board minutes.
  • Assist with on boarding prep for new employees (checklists, welcome docs, first-day schedules) Draft employee surveys and engagement initiatives Support with any HRAD duties that Operations Manager needs assistance with.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with an interest in Management, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of spreadsheets, data tracking, or reporting
