The Advocates Submits Comments on Recent Proposed Asylum Rules

The Advocates for Human Rights (with pro bono support from Stinson) recently submitted this comment in response to the Administration's proposed rule on changes to the credible fear process for asylum. The expedited removal process and credible fear screenings currently violate our international obligations by returning people to places where they face persecution and torture. The proposed rule makes some important adjustments but falls short of bringing the US in-line with international law.
