Published in 1987, "Oakdale Detention Center: The First Year of Operation" provides an account of the human rights conditions at the Oakdale Federal Alien Detention Center in Oakdale Louisiana, during its first year of operation. The improper, illegal and sometimes cruel treatment of the multinational alien detainees is documented and recommendations are given for a more humane approach to undocumented immigration.
