Asylum Volunteer Trainings

If you are interested in a specific training but are unable to attend, please contact Sarah Brenes via email for details about attending a training remotely.

Every Third Tuesday: Volunteer Orientation

Please join us for an informal introduction to handling a pro bono asylum case as a volunteer attorney with The Advocates for Human Rights. Join Refugee & Immigrant Program Staff Attorney Sarah Brenes to learn more about taking on a case, including how to find out about available cases, the timeline of a typical case, ethical obligations, finding and using interpreters, and other topics.

Remote Training Opportunities Available

The Advocates for Human Rights offers a number of asylum trainings throughout the year. A number of these trainings are now available for viewing at your own convenience.
