Development Internships

Job Title: Development Internship

Location: Twin Cities Metro     Salary: Unpaid     Type: Internship    

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Working with the Development team, the intern will:

  • Assist with event planning and promotions of events, including the Human Rights Awards Dinner, house parties, and others;
  • Attend events and assist with registration, photography, and other tasks as assigned;
  • Update records in donor database;
  • Research funding prospects;
  • Write blog posts;
  • Assist with mailings and solicitations;
  • Participate in weekly conversations with Development staff and interns to learn about The Advocates’ work and best practices in Development;
  • And support general Development operations.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a cooperative, busy, diverse environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Organized, detail-oriented and have excellent follow-through;
  • Able to meet deadlines;
  • Creative;
  • Have strong interpersonal skills;
  • And proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent.

Additional Information:

  • Hours: 8-12 hours per week during the school year or 10-20 hours per week during the summer
  • Flexible schedule
  • Position open until filled
