Keep up the Pressure— Tell Congress You Still Oppose Handing ICE/CBP Another Blank Check for Harmful Immigration Dragnets!

March 16, 2026

take action

The Advocates recently issued a policy brief documenting the escalating harms by ICE/CBP that our Minnesota community experienced during Operation Metro Surge. Community opposition to these harms helped ensure DHS appropriations were not renewed in February. Yet, negotiations are ongoing. It is critical that congressional offices continue to hear that this is a priority.

Call your Congressional offices today and tell them:

  • You continue to oppose further funding for ICE/CBP until they provide real mechanisms that ensure effective protections, accountability, and oversight.
  • You demand no further funds for ICE/CBP, including another continuing resolution, until DHS is out of our communities, schools, hospitals, and places of worship.
  • You want to see funds reallocated from harmful immigration detention and dragnets to instead support emergency disaster relief and systems that really keep our communities safe.
